My Rock Candy Sticks !
made with 2 cups of sugar to 1 cup water, heated together in a pan.
I then added food colouring, vanilla essence and left the sugared sticks in jars for a week, these grew into rock candies!

Fog or no Fog?
Just testing how many glow worm particals to have and deciding when they become over powering, I don’t want to add too many as they will begin to look too much like the crying balls, which is not the deired effect. Also upon a tutors suggestion i wanted to decide wether to bother with fog or not. I like the fog, but visually no fog points the light into the center of the screen into where April and Creature is whereas the fog evens out the light into a centural strip and doesn’t feel as intimate however does ass an extra erie dreamy feel.
Creature Family Portrait
After filming was completed, I’ve made the smaller two their noses and ears because they looked so sad as faceless creatures, also I personalized them with a crochet beret for Frost Bite and bow for Winter. Snuggles with mummy Snowflake ^-^

Log Buddies !
I made these by curing apple wood logs in the oven then painting on the critters with acrylic paint; complete with silk clay mushrooms (leftovers from the I Like To Bite set)

Screen test shots, playing with the lighting and glitters !
The tea cup shot was taken from the piece of footage which has been filmed today, and is what the film will look like.

Set Completed
Finished it today with teal emulsion then dry brushed the surface with light blue.
We then covered the forest floor with leaves cut from different pulp papers and tissue paper which were splatted with blue ink to tie in all the blue tones. we also made small rocks from polymer clay and collected tree buds which look like mini pine cones from the trees down the street.
A picture of the set in progress - photobombed by the naughty creature
The Ply wood was painted with white emulsion first and has two layers of polyfilla to uneven the surface. Large twigs were screwed in place using a power drill; smaller trees are slotted into holes in the ply and can be taken out and interchanged. We have designed the set with these tiles so that we can simply change the set so that it appears to be a new area of the forest. We have empty tiles for when there needs space between characters and trees making the forest more barren and stylized.
Trees and mushrooms.
Sticks gathered from the woods were treated with blue ink then dry brushed with a layer of bleached white and light blue. mushrooms were made from silk clay- a foam like clay that drys soft.
